What the DEA/DOJ Got Wrong
The DEA has denied every rescheduling petition for over 50 years — including one that overruled its own Administrative Law Judge. It has misread the statute, treated scheduling as a law enforcement function, and maintained the research barriers it then cites as justification for inaction. This is not caution. It is a documented institutional failure with a correctable legal record.
The Fix for All Cannabis Reforms
The legal tools to advance meaningful federal cannabis reform already exist. While different policy proposals take different approaches, many barriers can be addressed through executive authority. Marijuana Is Safer Than Alcohol
Alcohol kills approximately 95,000 Americans per year. Cannabis has no established lethal dose. Federal law treats cannabis as more dangerous than alcohol — a position unsupported by evidence on relative harm, addiction potential, or mortality. Project Four 2029 does not argue cannabis is harmless. It argues federal policy should reflect the actual science.
International Treaty Implications
