ABOUT PROJECTFOUR2029
The People Behind the Push
ProjectFour2029 is led by two people who bring what this work actually requires: legal precision and public reach. One builds the case. The other makes sure it's heard.
OUR STORY
Why 2029. Why Now.
THE TEAM
Leadership & Legal Counsel

Jason Adelstone
Founder & Attorney at Law
Jason Adelstone is a practicing attorney whose work sits at the intersection of federal drug law, administrative procedure, and policy advocacy. He serves as the legal counsel and content director for ProjectFour2029, overseeing all published positions and ensuring they are grounded in current law, case precedent, and legislative viability.
With deep familiarity with the Controlled Substances Act and DEA rulemaking processes, Jason brings the legal rigor that distinguishes ProjectFour2029's advocacy from opinion-driven commentary. His role is not just to advise — it is to build the legal architecture that makes rescheduling achievable.

Amna Shamim
Founder & Campaign Director
Amna Shamim is a writer, digital strategist, and marketing consultant whose work sits at the intersection of brand-building and social impact. She has spent the better part of a decade helping organizations — from early-stage startups to advocacy campaigns — find the right words, the right platforms, and the right people. Her path to ProjectFour2029 was a natural one: she came to this work because she believes that the most important causes often suffer from the least visible communication, and she intends to change that.
At ProjectFour2029, Amna holds the primary weight of visibility — overseeing the website, digital infrastructure, email systems, press and media relations, and social strategy, with a podcast in development. Her background in content marketing, SEO, growth strategy, and public-facing communications gives the project both the technical scaffolding and the editorial voice it needs to reach people who matter.
The Principles That Guide Everything We Do
HOW WE WORK
Transparent. Accountable. Community-first. We move at the speed of trust, not urgency.
Legally Vetted
Jason Adelstone isn't a consultant we bring in at the end; he's at the table from the beginning. Everything we put out is legally sound because it's legally authored.
Nonpartisan
We don't belong to a party. We belong to the work. Our coalition includes advocates, voters, and officials from across the political spectrum.
Evidence-Based
Policy built on evidence holds. We cite our sources, update our positions when the data changes, and don't ask anyone to take our word for it.
Accountable
Our community deserves to know who we are and what we're doing with their trust. We report transparently and answer to the people this work is for — not to donors, not to optics.
